Founded in Tokyo in 1899, Hiroto Glass has established itself as one of the pioneers of Japanese Glassware. It is also one of Japan's last remaining three artisanal glass brands. In recent years, Hirota Glass has created its own signature style through harmonization of European traditional glassmaking technique and Japanese artistry. While staying true to its classic designs and influence dating back to the pre-war period, Hirota Glass continues to push hand-crafted glass to its artistic limits.

In a world dominated by mechanized production, Hirota Glass has steadfastly adhered to the principle of "human sensibility, the warmth of objects" passed down through generations for 120 years, consistently producing handmade glassware.

The "Bamboo" series designed by Japanese designer Yukari Hirono and awarded the Silver Prize at Charming Japanese Souvenir Contest sponsored by Japan Tourism Agency in 2002. The “Bamboo” series features glassware in various charming forms that uses bamboo as a motif for its designs. Bamboo possesses distinct and alluring characteristics that puts it above other Japanese nature-related motifs.

With its natural, dark green tones, the “Green Bamboo” series conveys the strong vitality of bamboo that enables it to grow very straight and tall. On the other hand, the “Gold Bamboo” series represents a refreshing icy coolness. The beautiful ornament-like form of the glassware is also ideal for enhancing space.
