Founded in Tokyo in 1899, Hiroto Glass has established itself as one of the pioneers of Japanese Glassware. It is also one of Japan's last remaining three artisanal glass brands. In recent years, Hirota Glass has created its own signature style through harmonization of European traditional glassmaking technique and Japanese artistry. While staying true to its classic designs and influence dating back to the pre-war period, Hirota Glass continues to push hand-crafted glass to its artistic limits.

In a world dominated by mechanized production, Hirota Glass has steadfastly adhered to the principle of "human sensibility, the warmth of objects" passed down through generations for 120 years, consistently producing handmade glassware.

Taisho Roman Series-In the 1980s, Hirota Glass managed to resurrect the opalescent-colored glassmaking technique through trial and error, and used it to produce the most widely popular glass during the Taisho period. Hirota Glass successfully designed and produced the “Taisho Roman Series” using this technique. 

The Aburidashi Technique, which involves the shaping of glass in a patterned mold to create opalescent-colored designs on the glass surface, is a glassmaking technique that gained widespread popularity in Japan during the Meiji and Taisho periods hence the name, “Taisho Roman.” 

These beautiful 'Roman' series glasses are designed in different patterns, with each of them allow for the contents' colors to beautifully shines through. Especially in the evening, these glasses will have a breathtaking effect.
